This week’s been a doosey. I’m getting on a plane FRIDAY to head to Colorado for vacation. I know, I know with the wildfires it’s not the perfect time to go to Colorado, but HB and I have had this trip planned forever so we’re going to make the best of it.
I always forget how much work it is to get ready for a vacation. All sense of “normal routine” is gone this week and instead I’ve been doing the following:
Loads and loads of laundry
Cleaning the house
Getting ahead on secret shop projects
Shopping for vacation necessities ;)
Prepping for the camera (ouch…my eyebrows!)
Picking up prescriptions (contacts)
Running last minute house errands (dog food)
And the work isn’t done folks! It’s THURSDAY and I’m going to try to squeeze in:
I think all this shopping/cleaning is my little pre-vacation ritual. It helps me get into a vacation state of mind. I learned that trick from my mother who ALWAYS gets a pedicure and buys a new pair of sneakers (to hide her pedicure?) before vacation. My version: buy new sunglasses and pick up contacts. I’m typically a glasses every day kind of girl, but when it’s vacation time I fill my contacts prescription and buy a new pair of cute [cheap] sunglasses. Sure I could get prescription sunglasses but those are so permanent – and expensive!
