This week in crafting...
I've started work on Lisa Clark's Lakeside Forest Blanket pattern. So far the pattern is available in three parts: crocheting a granny hexagon, joining two hexagons along one side, and joining hexagons on multiple sides.
I love the pattern and I'm having a lot of fun working on a bit of a crochet along.
I had a few false starts. The first time I made a hexagon I made a mistake in the first row...which I didn't realize until the last row (ugh). Then I made six more hexagons...only to realize I wasn't supposed to finish the last row before joining (doh!). So I added an additional row (the white board you see above) and this is how I'm joining all my squares.
Hopefully it'll be a happy (series of) accident(s)!

The color-changing yarn is going to give it an interesting look, I bet! And good call on using white to outline everything - I've always wanted a white-outlined blanket. I think when I finally make one for myself, there will be a white background...
ReplyDeleteI'm considering this one my practice blanket. The next one I make will be for my bed using worsted weight sized yarn and primarily teals and greens. It's been a lot of fun to work on!
